Blue bird being the incarnation of phoenix 

flies up soaring 

in the violent wind and rain. 

Blue bird being the descendant of Phoenix

inherits the will of its ancestors

devoting itself into a raging inferno 

to temper its soul. 

No matter how to proceed self-immolation 

making incarnation into any form

its spirit is immortal 

carried from generation to generation.

地動尾（台語） 

地球板塊重組 

一霎仔久 

天搖地動 

看袂著地層下的變動 

災情遂由天降落來 

無辜百姓 tsi̍t-ba̍k-nih-á 

傷亡無數 

擾亂人民安定生活 

捷捷忽然間 

無規律不斷的地動尾 

注不安定的心情 

發揮構成無穩定的歷史 

大家重視地動災情 

但是地動尾連紲一再延伸 

威脅著正常社會生活 

啊，竟然是無法度預料的烏手 

餘震（華語） 

地球板塊重組 瞬間 

天搖地動 

看不見地層下變動 

災情卻從天而降 

無辜百姓刹那間傷亡無數 

蹂躪人民安定生活 

不期而至 

無規律的不斷餘震 

把不安定的情緒 

發揮構成不穩定的歷史 

大家重視主震災情 

但餘震連綿延伸 

威脅正常社會生活 

啊，竟然是無法預料的黑手

Aftershocks（英語）

When the earth plates are reconstructed,

in a moment 

the sky is turning and the earth is shaking. 

No visible changes can be observed under the strata 

while big disasters immediately fall down from the sky, 

innocent people suffer from countless casualties in an instant. 

The event ruins stable life of people 

happening unexpectedly. 

Irregular and constant aftershocks in society 

exert an unsettled emotion 

to construct the unstable history. 

Everyone pays attention to the main earthquake disasters 

but aftershocks continue to extend 

and threaten the normal social life, 

ah, it turns out to be the unpredictable black hands.

Atmosphere of Freedom（英語） 

You were in a muddy swamp 

looking up at the blue sky and white clouds 

out of reach. 

You struggled to pass across 

roaring waters of pacific ocean. 

There are vast sea and sky in the new world. 

Your noisy calls become 

the pleasant melody of mixed chorus symphony. 

No matter how high or low the tone is 

there is always a rhythmic response to atmosphere of freedom.

Your daughter Yingying 

hung a lavender jade, your memento 

on my neck in front of chest, 

your figure immediately 

appears in my heart. 

On the front of the jade 

was carved with “carp jumping over the successful gate” 

while I have been guarding the narrow gate of poetry. 

On the back of the jade 

was carved with “blooming flowers summoning wealth” 

while I have been striving for the return of beauty. 

In commemoration of the centennial anniversary of 

 poetess Chen Hsiu-si, this jade becomes 

a sign that I am blessed with 

an elegant happiness.

The Luce Chapel 

In early morning 

the clock 

still sleeps peacefully. 

There is a voice from afar 

leading me to here. 

I turn back in front of the clock tower 

finding you with two hands meeting together 

in praying toward heaven. 

Among the clouds 

a trace of morning glory 

shines on your fingertips. 

I desire to lie on the green land 

around you 

as my eternal bed.

基隆登高

在基隆容軒步道 

清晨踏上石階 

期待更上一層的風景 

眾多鬍鬚垂地的 

大榕樹葉叢內 

群鳥合唱曲開始交響 

雜草野花沿途向我招手 

抬頭看到白雲在微笑 

經過風風雨雨的洗禮 

在心靈裡化成詩意 

石階曲曲折折 

總是一路引導我向上 

直到嶺頂觀景平台 

眺望壯闊的海洋 

展現奔騰的氣魄 

洶湧海流對付遠方挑戰 

默默獨立在嶺頂 

感受台灣島嶼祖國 

無愧孤守在天地之間

Climbing up the hilltop in Keelung

Along Rongxuan Trail in Keelung 

I walk on the stone steps in early morning 

expecting to find better scenery at higher level. 

Among the dense leaves of a big banyan 

with fibrous roots growing down to reach the earth 

the chorus of birds begins to sing in a symphony. 

The weeds and wildflowers beckon me along the path. 

I look up and find the white clouds in smiling 

to inspire me a poetic feeling in my mind 

after the baptism with long windy rainy days. 

The stone steps in meandering 

lead me going up and up 

until the viewing platform on the hilltop. 

Overlooking the magnificent ocean 

which displays the strong spirit of surfing waves 

and the turbulent currents against the distant challenges 

I stand independently in silence at the hilltop 

and feel wholeheartedly my homeland of Taiwan island 

staying alone between heaven and earth proudly.

神聖陽光

太陽之子

從金峰往達仁鄉路上
太陽之子
銅色皮膚的老司機
對我說：
「我們台東的火車
不燒媒不吃電
是喝小米酒的！」
難怪勇猛向前
腳輪子有點不穩
搖搖顛顛
排灣族老司機
臉上皺紋花東縱谷
北大武山嶽峰連綿
有五位兒女七位孫子
太陽永遠不會休息
外來此地
意外被海浪沖到沙灘上
無人撿拾的貝殼
獨自聽潮音

Son of The Sun

On the road from Kinzang toward Tadren Township

the old driver, Son of the Sun,

with copper skin

said to me:

"The train in our Taitung is driven

by nether burning coals nor eating electricity

but drinking millet wine! "

No wonder it ran forward bravely

and found the wheels sway a little bit

unstably.

The old driver of Paiwan tribe

with wrinkles on the face like East Rift Valley

and Meli-miligang Mountain extensively

continuous five children and seven grandchildren

because The Sun never rests.

As an outcomer

a shell accidentally washed up by the waves

and left on the beach

listening to the tide alone.

its purity is comparable as

the water pearl drops on the white swan feathers

Even in silence

I can understand your feeling

because you have lived

within the room of my heart.

I love this world

although there are some inhuman turmoil.

I love my motherland Taiwan

although it has been repeatedly colonized.

愛情有時

是冒險的事業

像蝴蝶要飛越過海峽

尋找甜蜜的新生地

像群雁南飛時

堅持飛往北方的孤雁

很難預料

有什麼風暴即將來臨

也許是在創造歷史

也許只留下記憶

就像詩創作

一樣冒險

要踏過多少前人的足跡

要越過多少無人的叢林

也許攀登高峰

也許陷入沼澤

等待愛救援

Cross the strait（英語）

Love sometimes

is a venture business,

like a butterfly to fly over the strait

looking for a sweet new land

like one goose keeps its flight to the north lonely

when a flock of geese flying southward.

It is difficult to predict

what storm will be coming soon,

maybe creating a new history

maybe only leaving some memories behind.

Love is as venturous as

poetry creation,

to step over many footprints left by predecessors

to pass through many untrodden forests

maybe climbing up to the peak

maybe sunk into the swamp

waiting for love to rescue.

The distance is not necessarily

caused separation.

So long as poetry connection existed

even remote distance is just like at next door.

The spirit of poetry

can penetrate into deep heart

turning the agony into joyful

so as always together

without any distance.

無法預測何時發生

有時像颱風

無法控制強度

引導往哪個方向

有時無緣無故遇上

無法事先設計

要發生幾級地震

或是幾級颱風

我們不是地震儀

也不可能是測候所

我們無法預言

不是先知

一旦事件來臨

我全心全意接受

Love

sometimes like an earthquake

unable to predict when it will happen

where did it happen,

sometimes like a typhoon

unable to control its intensity

which direction to guide.

Love

sometimes encounters occasionally

unable to design in advance

what magnitude of earthquake to occur

what scale of typhoon to reach.

Oh darling

we are neither a seismograph

nor a weather station.

We cannot predict

not a prophet.

Once the event comes

I accept wholeheartedly

偶然被發現

成為軼事或奇蹟

說不定字跡已然模糊

郵票已經褪色

不知道要寄去哪裡

The Stamp（英語）

You are a letter

all you want to say

folded

and sealed within an envelope.

I am a stamp

posted in front of your chest

it represents to have possessed a position

closest to your heart.

The envelope is only a negligible separation

and within that small space

you wronged inside

can't breathe publicly.

I feel free and comfortable outside

best for understanding your mind,

and able to keep firmly your secret.

We are always together

either as travel companion

or staying in the mailbox all the way

being treated as a lost mail.

Maybe after many years

occasionally discovered

becoming an anecdote or a miracle.

Some busybodies may do research

why the letter is just simply one poem

and maybe the writing has already blurred

even the stamps have faded

where to send.
